Hello, I'm Berfu Ege Sobe.
I'm an impact maker working for sustainable development.
My first book, Impact by Design, came from a simple frustration: there are too many frameworks and methodologies, too much vague advice for impact makers, and no shared guidance that spans business, policy, and civil society. Based on everything I have seen, all the projects I have worked on, and the people I have met, I wanted to set out the four key dimensions underneath it all in one simple framework: the Impact Compass. It is honest, specific, and useful on a Tuesday morning when you're staring at a hard problem.
I write for builders, designers, founders, and anyone whose goal is to create real, lasting impact. If that's you, I hope you find something here that helps.

Berfu Ege Sobe is an impact maker, author, speaker, and advisor. She works at the intersection of finance, law, and sustainable development, and advises organisations around the world on making sustainable impact.
Working with SNV, one of the world's leading international development organisations, she designs large-scale programmes and builds the funding strategies that bring them to life, mobilising multi-million euro resources and forging the partnerships that make real change possible. She also sits on the board of Fora, a Canada-based global organisation.
Her first book, Impact by Design, sets out the Impact Compass, the four-dimension framework behind that work: environment, economy, society, and individual.
Berfu believes that sustainable development is a goal that everyone should know about, and that with the right partnerships, the right funding, and the right focus, we can achieve it. She has dedicated her career to making that happen, and she firmly believes that everyone has the power to make a difference, and the world needs all of us to try.
